Creating Clips

Clipping lets you pull out the most important parts of long recordings with just a few clicks. When you create a clip, Rev gives you both a shortened transcript of just that section AND a separate audio or video file containing only those moments. It's like using digital scissors to cut out exactly what you need from a much longer recording.

You can download these instructions here.

Selecting What to Clip

  • Click and drag to highlight the section you want to clip

Pro Tip: The highlighted text shows you exactly what will be included in your clip, so you can see the full conversation or moment you're capturing.

What You Get With Each Clip

Every clip gives you:

  1. A transcript containing only the text from your selected section
  2. A media file (audio or video) with just that portion of the recording

This means you can share a 2-minute clip from a 30-minute recording, and the person receiving it only gets exactly what they need to see or hear.

Quick Clip Sharing

  • In the right hand side panel, click the scissors icon to see all your clips
  • Then Click "Copy Clip Link" to get a link you can send to anyone

  • The person receiving the link will see just your clip, not the full original recording
  • Perfect for highlighting specific moments without sharing entire conversations

Downloading Your Clip Files

You can download your clips in multiple ways. To start, in the right hand side panel, click the scissors icon to see all your clips.

Then click the download icon.
